    OK… Kindle…

Andrew, you keep missing the details and John, you should know them.

The Kindle product as a whole is an eco-system and not the reader device. You can get the Kindle app for the PC, Mac and the iPad/Pod/Phone and NEVER buy a Kindle reader. Later this summer, the Kindle app for Android will be out. With all of that, what Amazon has done is set up an environment where you can read Kindle books ANYWHERE. This is something that Apple cannot claim for its iBook “thing”.

Obsessing over the price of the Kindle reader is silly. Dvorak is totally right. It is razors and razor blades. Amazon is a book seller and they want to sell books. The Kindle reader is a showcase item that is indeed a nice book reader but they have seeded the entire computing world with ways to consume their product.

Also, I know you were distancing yourself from crazy stimulus spending but there is no way at all that there should be another round of ANY stimulus. Government stimulus of ANY kind is Keynesian economics put in to play and that is just not a good idea.

As always though, love the show and keep it up!!!

Oh and I recently added your DI podcast to my list.

    One other thing…

    CDMA…

Rev 0 and Rev A do not allow for calls and EVDO at the same time but there is a new version of the network upgrade path for CDMA carriers called CDMA2000 1X Advanced and it includes a feature called SVDO that allows for the simultaneous calls and data. This was only standardized in summer 2009 so that is likely why they are taking this long. The tech was just not really out there and needed to be implemented.
