Sketchers Rocker Shoe = Opti-grab (The Jerk)

“I’m a jerk. I once had wealth, power, and the love of a beautiful woman. Now I only have two things: my friends and… uh… my thermos. Huh? My story?”

Hi Dvorak and Horowitz, thanks as always for the great podcast. If I donate $1000 to the reading room, can I be invited over to John’s house for the champagne bday party? Happy bday to both of you btw as well!

Anyways, so before I heard about these skechers I heard about how the MBT shoes (the ‘anti-shoe’) were very popular with nurses and doctors who are on their feet all day. My girlfriend is a med student and I can testify that those in the medical industry are willing to shell out big bucks for comfortable shoes. I don’t understand how these curved shoes are comfortable, but nevertheless I guess people swear by them. I think skechers is trying to steal this market a little bit with these shape-ups. A lot of doctors swear by Dankso’s as well, I don’t know how those clogs are comfortable, but they are very expensive shoes that a lot of people still by. I think its kind of a funny market in general. Thats my take on the story.

Ok John D…since you think google is the best search engine could you post a search that worked for google and got worse results from ixquick.com or bing?

I can give you a URL of a page I created for one of my classes and ask you to find it with Google. I can’t find it using google. But I can find it with many other search engines.

I think it has something to do with the way google ranks pages by how many links there are to a page. And since no one links to this page in question, I guess Google ignores it.

But what other info does it ignore?

So please post a search where you show the supreme capabilities of google.

and let me know if you want to try to find my page with google.

    Thanks!

    John

one of my friends is a physio and tells me that the MBT shoe (copied by Skechers) has been designed to mirror the natural ‘roll’ of the foot from back to front as you walk (ie from heel to toe)

accentuating this motion is supposed to stop back pain, hence the benefit.

he also told me that the ‘real’ fix for back pain was to walk properly, with better posture, and not to wear entirely flat shoes which are very popular these days (and give no support to the bridge of your feet) – think ladies flat shoes or Fly London sneakers.

So maybe if everyone is too lazy to walk properly these shoes will take off!!

really enjoy the show by the way, keep it up

Hey, as always I enjoy your shows very much! Anyhow, you were talking about Cameco (CCJ), stuff like “head and shoulders” patterns and maybe it has bottomed and the nuclear revival. Well, how about “mine under a lake”? You see, we Canadians follow Cameco pretty closely and we all know that CCJ’s biggest headache is it’s billion dollar mine that is litterally under a big lake and wonder of wonders, the mine is filling with water! Go figure!
