    Note about coinstar:

I noticed that immigrants are flocking to Coinstar in Europe since they send money to distant locations for a small fixed price (compared to Western union) Here in Sweden they operate out of small shabby offices but there is always a line and a long wait, but you can save 10 € on a 100€ remittance.

There are competitors to CoinStar that run similar change-counting machines. They all work just fine and are convenient to use.

RedBox is also very cool. An Albertson’s by me closed their movie renting office and now have self-service movie renting with RedBox. They also have several self-checkout isles. Rise of the machines.

However, I truly miss the old video rental place that was down the street. They had all kinds of interesting underground and foreign films that are hard to discover elsewhere. (I like to browse and have found many cool movies by accident. Hard to do online or w/ a RedBox.)
